Sometimes when I think about it, I get really excited. I can’t believe it is so close (only 87 days away). I am looking forward to sharing such a special moment with my family and friends. I can’t even begin to imagine what the actual day is going to feel like. I know that I will be stressed and excited and forgetful…really forgetful. I have already put Kate in charge of my brain for the day, because I know I won’t be able to remember my right hand from my left. I am excited to see everyone’s reactions to certain things. I love that there is such a surprise element to weddings.
Other times when I think about it the stress overwhelms me. How are we really going to pay for all this? It seems like every time Andy and I turn around some decoration or fee that we hadn’t budgeted for pops up. I wonder if the caterer is going to like setting up where we want her to set up? Will I look good in the pictures? Does it make sense to put my dress on first and then get my make-up done, or the other way around? What shoes am I going to wear? Where are we going to put the pies? Where is everyone that is helping us decorate and set up going to get ready? Will my family and Andy’s family get along…at least well enough for a couple hours? Is the ceremony too short? I mean we don’t like the idea of a long ceremony, but this is our one shot, so we better get the most bang for out buck. I think that is the big thing…this is going to be my only wedding. It is not like I have had a trial run to know what I did and didn’t like. How do I make sure this is representative of Andy and I? Which brings me to…
My wedding is going to look nothing like how the magazines and TV make them look! How am I supposed to be satisfied with my wedding, when I am being bombarded with images of what a “real” wedding should look like? It is enough to make a woman want to give up!
In other news, the Ladies Luau invites will be going out this week and Andy and Jeremy will be suit shopping this weekend. On Monday I bought 72 votive holders for the tables so hopefully those will come in the mail soon.
